Sad Flight

After 14 seasons Raphael Furcal retires. Who could forget the energy he brought to the 2011 club? I can say they wouldn’t have won the Series that year without him. At the end he was in the Royals’ minor league system after injuries laid him low-sad way for him to go out.  I couldn't resist including a picture of his wife-it reminds of Will Ferrel's move The Other Guys. Have a Happy Flight!

  1. He was so much fun to watch when he first came up with the Braves. One of the most powerful cannon arms from SS I've ever seen.

  2. Sad that he wasn't able to come back from all the injuries, but still a very nice career.

  3. I think he was one of the most underappreciated players on that 2011 World Series team. He could get on base, work the count and make it easier for the Big 3 back then in Pujols, Holliday, and Berkman.

  4. Sorry. You can't post a photo of those puppies and expect me to focus on Mr. Furcal.

  5. I wasn't excited when the Cards picked him up but boy was I wrong-a real team player and spark plug-he deserved a better exit than this.
