Bye Stephen, I had Such High Hopes for Ya

I went to bed last night and woke up to find the Redbirds dealt Stephen Piscotty to the A's for two minor leaguers. Stephen fell off last year and his power declined. Last season wasn't a good one for him in comparison to 2016.

He hit .235 and had only 9 home runs over 401 plate appearances. In 2016 he hit .273 and had 22 home runs. He grew up in the Bay area and will be closer to his mother who was diagnosed with ALS earlier this year. Somethings are more important than statistics. Farewell!

  1. Sad to see him go, but I think it is best for both him and the Cardinals. Two moves in one day, wonder if they are done. Sure hope they don't trade the farm for one year of Machado.

    1. I kind of thought he was gone when the picked up Marcell. One year of Machado is mom def' not worth mortgaging the farm.

  2. I heard about his mother on the radio... and thought it was cool that he wanted to play closer to her. There aren't a lot of things to root for in terms of my Athletics... but Piscotty will be one of them.
